Iamme - Lagos

Firstly, gorgeous spotlessly clean restaurant, and a great idea in the face of a lot of 'same same ' in town...but, it could be better. I asked, just to double check, if the veggie burger was vegan, and they confirmed that it was, but it seemed that they thought that this just meant 'leave the cheese off ' as it still arrived with a pot of sour cream on the side. They confirmed upon enquiry that it did contain dairy (I checked hoping it was ok, as I 've had dairy free alternatives in other places), but there was no offer of other condiments, such as ketchup, or vegan mayo. The result was then all a bit sad and dry. It 's a shame because it was all clearly homemade and all very fresh, but I left not entirely convinced that they knew what vegan actually means. I hope they iron out these teething problems as it really could be great, and the juices were lush.

Just off the main road near Carvi Beach Hotel we discovered this vegan/vegetarian friendly new restaurant. There are also great chicken dishes available. Fresh juices, risotto and new decor convinced me to revisit. Friendly and helpful staff topped the experience. Thoroughly enjoyed my yummy meal and the sweet potato brownies:

We have now visited 4 times for dinner this really is a little gem. The food is superb and the service outstanding. Really recommend. Cajun shrimps fab but so is the salmon and the chicken and the curry in fact all good.

My husband and I are traveling Portugal on our honeymoon and after 1 week, we're craving vegetables. Don't misunderstand, we love a nice med-rare steak and all the seafood you can catch, but we've missed the vegetables on this trip so far, until eating at IAMME. I had a detox juice (fresh put directly into the juicer) a smoothie (same with all the pulp), the shrimp dinner (can't remember the exact name) and my husband had the Hawaiian chicken burger. We were both rolling our eyes back in delight at how delicious and satisfying our food was! This place is EXACTLY what we were looking for and they do breakfast, lunch, late lunch, and dinner. Give it a go, you won't regret it, I promise!!
