Bidra med feedbackBecause of the cost pressure close carlos and his team this popular restaurant, which has been providing excellent food and hospitality for the local and tourist alike for many years, they are sadly missed.
We have eaten here before in the past. It changed hands this year so, as it so close to where we stay, we decided to try Bom Apetite again. Wow! What a fantastic improvement. The food, the atmosphere is brilliant the two guys who are...there, Luis and Carlos,(I've probably got them wrong) are great with good English. A must try!
Visited bom appertite for sunday lunch it was excellent I had salmon hubby had pork cheeks both meals were excellent served by Carlos and his team.
It took an hour and minutes to be served and steaks were disgusting. they have no personal. very slow, but they didn't blame us.
We have only been here for lunch, but times since management changed last year. It is far enough away from the tourist area to be used mainly by locals. There are usually or choices on the daily lunch menu, which is soup, a main and coffee. We had Raia alhada on the most recent occasion, which was Ray fish stewed with garlic and potatoes, and had large generous chunks of white fish. The soup starter is almost invariably vegetable, blended and a normal Portuguese dish. Previously we had tried Cozido Portuguesa (traditional stew with cabbage, pork and sausages and Cabidela de Galinha (mature chicken pieces stewed with its own blood and rice). Each time the food was freshly prepared and served hot from the open kitchen next to the bar. Staff are friendly and helpful. The least good dish we had was a Sopa de Cação (a main course of dogfish cooked in a soup of garlic and coriander with some added vinegar). This was from a frozen steak of cação and had insufficient coriander and overthickened with flour. Not the best we have had. It is a good inexpensive lunch. They always have other fresh fish of the day, grilled, but may be a little more expensive. Recommended and reliable.
