Pepin's - Lafayette

Was in the area and decided to eat at this hidden gem and was broken hearted to find out that they were closed for good. Going to miss those cuban sandwiches and the best gizzard I have ever come across Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Ordered five (5) sacks of crawfish for our Easter crawfish boil Saturday. Told that the size of crawfish were medium to large. Picked up the sacks Saturday,about noon, opened the first sack after I got home, there was not a crawfish larger than my thumb in the whole sack! After inspecting the remaining sacks, we found that they were all small to tiny. Called Pepin's and was told to bring them back which we did. We exchanged all of the sacks for not much larger crawfish. I'm very disappointed that the crawfish were so small, very dirty, and I was told that they would be medium to large size. At $100.00 per sack × 5 $500.00, they really got over on me. Buyer BEWARE I DO NOT recommend that you purchase crawfish from Pepin's. Sir, I just read your response to my review. I DID NOT give you one (1) star, you earned it! I have always posted my honest experience at different establishments that I have visited and never lied about any of them, however, you, on the other hand, have lied. 1. You lied to me about the size of your crawfish. 2. You lied about the hand selected sacks. 3. You lied about offering me a free sack of crawfish. 4. You lied about the price that you charged me for the crawfish. If, in fact, you feel that you charged me $250.00 instead of the $500.00, that I actuality paid you, offered me a free sack of crawfish, I'll drop by Monday and collect my $250.00 the free sack of crawfish (I need some small crawfish to set my catfish trot lines with). Great business with good food. I shared an experience of getting a not so great sandwich with the cooks and they made it right by offering me a fresh and free sandwich. It's the principle that matters most some times, I highly recommend this business Food: 5 Service: 5

I ordered five (5) sacks of crawfish for a Saturday crawfish boil. Picked up the crawfish and as we opened the first sack found that they were very small, after inspecting the remaining sacks, found all were not larger than my thumb! Called back, told them of our dissatisfaction on the small size of crawfish and they suggested we bring them back, we returned the sacks and they replaced them with slightly larger, mixed crawfish, but still very small crawfish and very dirty, washed each sack 4 times to remove mud and debris. At $100.00 per sack, I DO NOT recommend purchasing your crawfish from them. Service: Take out Meal type: Other Price per person: $100+
