Locanda Positano - Lafayette

Locando Positano was packed on a Saturday night. With its lively decor and lively atmosphere, LP seems to be the place to go to Lafayette. I'm stunned. Why is this restaurant so popular? The food is medium, best, and the wine list is just from Total Wine. Could the owner not supply interesting, beautiful bottles of small wineries in Italy? I am happy to pay good money for delicious food, but these Italian dishes were not only boring, but also badly executed and very expensive. It is disappointing that Lamorinda finds this acceptable. If you are looking for consistently good Italian, it is worth traveling through the tunnel where Rockridge has a few gems.

Their food is excellent, the staff is excellent, the wine and cocktails are excellent. This place is so great, and it's in Lafayette, CA too. We celebrated a friend's birthday, and they made it very special for her.

We chose to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday dinner here because of the location, online menu and photos. What a huge disappointment. Everything about this place was terrible! We ordered all meals at the same time, five of them came out together. Two specials never came out until we inquired about them. Then we got some story that the kitchen made the wrong dish. What? It was the only chicken dinner special. Since my family was nearly done with their meals, we rejected the dinners (over 20 minutes later). I requested to speak with the manager, who NEVER had the common decency to come to our table. Unfortunately, I will never dine at this restaurant again and I will make certain that I share my horrible experience.
