Café de la Paix - La Rochelle

Very nice place with a variable service depending on the person avoiding mustache. Expresso is good, the choice of pressures 1664 and Grim) too basic. Correct prices but measurable toilets.

We arrived at the closing time of the kitchen for lunch, the team we served with the smile, super establishment we had to eat as usual, the sounds really super pleasant. Go and have a good appetite.

Formerly "Military Café" (1793) became "Peace Coffee" in 1900. It has been listed as a historic monument since 1984. It is the emblematic establishment of the city centre of La Rochelle. Located in Place de Verdun at 54 rue Chaudrier, the various restorations have preserved the sumptuous decorations of the ceilings and the unique charm of this place that has been attended by the greatest personalities, the world of arts or politics, over the last two centuries. Inside, the very large room offers various small cossus lounges where it is possible to consume drinks and also to have lunch in peace if you wish. On the outside under the rocky arcades, a terrace where you can see, still planted in the wall, the ring where Georges Simenon tied his horse during his rocky period. On the other side of the street on the esplanade of Place de Verdun, a large sunny terrace allows a pleasant lunch in front of the beautiful facade of this magnificent café.

The brewery, Café de la Paix in La Rochelle, faces Place de Verdun. This mythical and beautiful place has a beautiful temporal setting that I particularly love. Near the city centre, this is the ideal stage before shopping or after. Personally, I had a morning appointment and went to take a second breakfast before returning to work. I arrived when the croissants came out of the oven, it was perfect to accompany my latte coffee. The young waitress was very friendly and effective. Thank you for the moment. Nice tasting. I ate the best lemon pie in my life at the Café de la Paix!! (A real taste of lemon, not too much sugar and air. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture. The frame is beautiful and the servers very pleasant. Thank you!
