Bidra med feedbackFrom the proprietor's warm welcome to the last sip of coffee, everything was perfect at this popular creperie. I opted for the menu at 10.50 Euros (galette, crepe and a cup of cider), while my husband enjoyed a salad of sliced duck breast, chopped chicken, and walnuts. For dessert, try a breton specialty: a crepe with warm caramel sauce--delicious! It's a small place, and was filled with locals enjoying a mid-week lunch, so reservations are a good idea.
We came across this charming cafe as we passed through one morning, well before lunch ,so we had our usual the and noisette Both served with speed and alacrity. We would recommend this place without a second thought
We have just returned from a trip to Southern Brittany and had the pleasure of having lunch at La Belle Epoque. It's an unassuming Creperie on Rue St James in La Roche Bernard, in fact we had driven past it on a number of occasions without evening noticing it.We were warmly greeted by the owner in French but when he realised we had very little French he switched to English (which is always good when you don't speak the native tongue). The Menu is comprehensive with Galettes ,Crepes and Pastas on offer.I went for Morbhianaise, a Gallete with Scallops ,Leeks and a Cider Sauce and I can safely say it was the tastiest I have ever had, My Wife went for the Spaghetti Bolognaise which was freshly made and full of flavour. Our Mains were followed by a Crepe Flambéed with apples and Calvados (also gorgeous) and coffees to finish. We were disappointed to learn that they only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights or we would have returned that evening for dinner. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Had a couple of trips here. The first was dinner when we had great moules frite and then crepes. The second time was for lunch and we had galletes. Owner is very friendly and chatty in spite of limited English (and our small amount of French). Quite small so a little bit of a wait on the second occasion but nothing unreasonable.
Not much to dislike. The food is great (crepes, salads, moules frites in the summer) and the service is very friendly and quite fast. We go there often with family and friends and it is popular at lunchtimes so a reservation is a good idea.
