Mama Frances Soul Kitchen - La Marque

We have tried almost all diet food restaurants in the bigger one against houston and so it happened to be near galveston and we stumbled on this little gem. mama frances soul kitchen is by far the best seafood I have eaten since I am in Texas and I understand why yelp rated it with number 19 from all restaurants last year.

We love soul food and this is BEST we've ever had!! Started out with huge serving of delicious complimentary cornbread. My friend had a cup of gumbo (which he said was excellent), smothered steak, which you could cut with a fork...his sides were mixed greens sweet corn. I enjoyed meatloaf, mashed potatoes, lima beans mac n cheese....all wonderful!! Niece had smothered pork chops, which is one of their specialty dishes...absolutely delish!! Took coconut pie and banana pudding home for later. Owners were so friendly and accommodating...just can't say enough good things about this place!!

There's only one choice in my mind for Catering and that's Mama Frances. They went above and beyond for My wedding. They opened the store on their day off. They cooked food fresh that morning for us. They brought all food to bolivar peninsula, serving plates, dining plates, drinks, napkins, and at the end they cleaned everything up. The food was phenomenal. I didn't have one guest including the kids not like the food. If you have a big event and need to cater there is only 1 choice.

This place is awesome!! I ordered the smothered pork chop and it was to perfection, the rice had some of the best flavor I've had in a while. The staff is super friendly.

We are here from Ohio my husband, Sam is working in the area) we stumbled across this little place and we are beyond grateful that we did. We eat there often. The food is made fresh and delicious. The service is amazing. Chris and Ms Shirley are outstanding people who treat you like family. We are so blessed to have found them and their amazing restaurant...much love to them ?. A MUST try place..
