Bidra med feedbackThis is a quiet little family restaurant. The BBQ, Sopes and Tamales are delicious! Don't forget on Chili Relleno Day Wednesday! Margaritas and cold beer! The prices are amazing and the family is so beautiful.
Great family owned and run restaurant. Friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. Much better choices than Taco Square “over the street”. Fish tacos are the best in town. They also have wonderful tamales, quesadillas and chicken tacos. They serve beer and have a full bar. Great margaritas!
The chef at Fonda Coqui is simply the best around. The service is unique and fun. The prices should be so much higher. Why people go across the street to Tacos on the Street is a question where the only answer is they haven 't tried eating at Fonda Coqui . As of this week, Maria, the cook 's daughter has begun serving her exquisite desserts. The flan and cheesecake are as good as anything that I have ever had.
Best adobada and Mahi tacos I've ever had. Juan and Coqui and their family are so friendly, warm and welcoming. You can't go wrong enjoying a meal here, the tortillas are freshly made to order, and they have great margaritas and ponche too!! Their salsas are also really delicious, I love green salsa and theirs is one of my favorites. 10/10 would recommend. June 2023 update: right now they have discounted prices for low season. All of the food at Fonda Coqui is delicious, the service is great, and if you're lucky you can order a special dessert from Maria. She has her own dessert business and is an excellent pastry chef. I buy their green salsa by the litre, and we eat there a few times a week. What more can I say? My favorite dish is the mole spaghetti, it's just so good. A little spicy, savory, and rich.
Best. In town. This place let me go back and change my review of Tacos On The Street to 4 stars because these two CANTs are on the same level. More meat options than the other place and even better taste. We had the Barbacoa Tacos. While I had ordered them anyway, the owner who helped us wanted to know that everything is good, but the Barbacoa is his specialty and we had to try. So I did this and I even went back for more because they were just so good. Coqui was in the back hand the tortillas for our tacos as we ordered them. The salsa they brought to the table was beyond taste, and the beer was ice cold. And the price was incredibly low. I want to add more about Juan who helped us. We went when it was slow, so this could not be the case if it was busy, but he was so nice. He spoke great English, but my wife and I really wanted to speak Spanish. He encouraged us and helped us with words we missed or got wrong.
