Tuscany Ristorante-bar-cafe - La Costa

We came to Tuscany the first time when our grand baby was just a few months old. The hostess sat us in the back room where we could be comfortable, and if the baby woke up she wouldn't disturb anyone. Our grand daughter was perfect throughout our meal and our daughter was able to enjoy her dinner! The service and attentive person that served us was great! We have been back many times with our daughter, her husband and our grand baby every time we have had wonderful service and our meals are always so terrific we also go to Tommy V's as that is our son in law's favorite steak house! We will continue coming to both places!!

The food was outstanding, reminding me of Italy but what was more fun were the people. The bar and music made for a fabulous evening. Highly recommend for a night out and just having some fun.

Upon entering and speaking with the hostess about my reservation I found out that apparently my reservation taker did not take my reservation. I was informed that even all the people with reservations had to wait. Yes a testament to the food, but what is a reservation for right? Obviously not happy I was seated very quickly. No harm no foul just poor planning. We were quickly attended to by a waiter who was ready to take our order. A little quick for that we hadn 't even picked out a wine yet. Obviously trying to rush us into ordering I said ;what are you trying to get us out of here as fast as possible ;. It slowed the waiter down for a moment. We ordered fried calamari. Amazingly it was on our table 30 seconds later. It must be premade and sit under heat lamps like at McDonalds because it was a little soggy and warmish at best. Very poor in my mind. So up to this point we are there for maybe 15 minutes, already have our wine and appetizer half eaten. No relaxing, or taking our time. Rushed the whole way. Finally the waiter gets an order out of us and within 10 minutes it is served. We overheard the table next to us say ;even though our order is in we are in no rush to get our food ;. Solid dishes not a lot of food like at most Italian restaurants. But quality cuisine all the way. The waiter finally took a hint and left us alone for a while with the desert menu while we finished the bottle of wine. Eventually we had to find him to get our check. On a side note busboys had no personality and didn 't speak English. One stepped on the back of my foot while leaving the restaurant and didn 't even attempt to say sorry. Being from NY I can be picky with restaurants outside NY. But if looking for that Italian experience you get 99% of the time in NY Italian restaurants this is not the place to find it. For the money you would expect to relax and sit there for at least 2 hours while slowly enjoying the meal and being taken care of. Not pushed out the door ASAP!
