Bidra med feedbackA lovely setting for a winery lunch. A little hiccup on arrival someone with the same name were given our table. We were given a free wine tasting while we waited for a table, which made up for it. The food was tasty modern Australian with an asian twist. The sliders and the burrata were our favourites. We love that it’s in the entertainment book too!
Ezard at Levantine Hill possesses all of the requisite elements to deliver an enchanting experience not found in the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. The dining area is modern and elegant, exuding an air of calm. The glass windows encasing the dining area allow the sun to trickle in and present magical views. One of Melbourne's most consistently successful restaurants, Ezard is a true stalwart of the Melbourne dining scene. It’s outpost at Levantine Hill in the Yarra Valley is as expected, a class act and mirrors the quality Ezard is known for but with a completely tranquil backdrop.
I heard great reviews about Ezard in the city from my friends so I was really looking forward to lunch at Ezard at Yarra Valley. I made reservation for Friday lunch and requested for the barrel seat but was told it was reserved for bigger group. The person who took my booking over the phone also asked for any dietary requirement and I informed her that a friend of mine is pregnant and she won't be able to take raw seafood or uncooked dairy products. My reservation was only for 3 people in the all day dining area. When we arrived for lunch at 12 PM, we are the first customer to walk in and the place was really quiet but it gets busier with a few more groups walking in after an hour. The venue is beautiful and and the weather was perfect. 2 of us wanted to try the grazing menu at $98 per person and another friend preferred to go for the fish special of the day. However we were told they can only cater the grazing menu for the whole table which is strange although there was a minimum 2 of us opting for the grazing menu.My friend is happy to go with the grazing menu if they can substitute some of the ingredients for her as she is pregnant. Personally I think the grazing menu is quite good, better value than the degustation menu. The portion is quite generous and I was almost full before the start of the first main dish. Almost mid way through lunch, we saw a couple arriving in a red helicopter, now that's a grand entrance!
Fine dining winery restaurant in the Yarra Valley. I enjoyed the spacious open design with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the vineyards. The menu in the all day dining section is relatively small but tasty. We shared the Mac and cheese croquettes for entree. They were delicious. Then for main I went for the lamb rump with fennel, sumac and chevre. We also shared the pea salad as a side. The lamb dish was a great combo of flavours and a perfect portion size. My only comment is that a felt the food was quite overpriced for what it was. The $25 wine tasting fee per person is also a bit steep if you’re also dining in the restaurant.
My family stopped in for lunch without a booking and they seated us straight away. The service was excellent, the food was divine, and the location and grounds were beautiful. We all loved our meals. We then took a walk around after lunch among the statues and garden ornaments
