Kangazims - Kuranda

Avoid this restaurant at all costs! I ordered the big breakfast and it was the worst I've ever had. The food looked like it had just been thrown on the grill but never actually cooked. Plus, everything was served on non-recyclable, disposable plastic. The coffee tasted like it had never been cleaned, and the service was rude and disrespectful. The owner even told me to wipe my hands on my shirt when I asked for an extra napkin.

My family and I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday and were informed that there would be a short wait. Considering the busy tourist area and lunchtime rush, we found this to be understandable. However, after a few minutes passed, we inquired about our order as our children were hungry. We were informed that our food was just being prepared. When the food finally arrived, it was evident that it was a budget meal as the quality was lacking. The presentation was subpar, with our food simply thrown onto plastic plates without any apology. We even had to return to the restaurant to request cutlery to eat our meal.

The focaccia was so stale that we couldn't eat it. The staff were not knowledgeable and the service was slow. They did not provide any serviettes and when we asked for straws with our drinks, the staff didn't know where they were. Honestly, I could have made a better meal myself. In our time in the Cairns region, we have had some of the best meals of our lives and also some of the worst. This experience was definitely the worst. There are other cafes in Kuranda, so I would recommend going to one of those instead.

Their food is Devine! The staff are the nicest people I've seen for a long time! The tables were very clean and I think more people should visit the café. It's a wait but worth it for the amazing food.

Lost for words. An unacceptable level of food preparation. The lowest quality of food produce I've ever had in a cafe, ever, anywhere and that's some going in Cairns. The kids spat there cardboard cheese toastie out, the cheese had actually dried out and curled...at the edges. The worst chicken snitzel you'll ever find anywhere and a chicken burger with tough tasteless chicken and lettuce. The chips were inedible, they came in large clusters all stuck together with I don't know what or how that is possible? The staff were all totally miserable too. Misery produces unloved food especially when there's no passion in making it. Why oh why didn't we read the reviews? Lesson learned. A new low.
