Bidra med feedbackWe had a wonderful stay at Lavalon! Edwin filled our days with incredible stories and delicious food. Hands down the best breakfast omelette in Indonesia. For dinner, the squid is (or should) also be world famous. He was full of helpful tips and recommendations to explore Kupang and Timor. The room had great views of the beach and the location was very convenient. Can’t recommend highly enough!
This hostel is wonderful!! The most comfortable bed and the hottest shower I had in weeks. AC and breakfast included! It is on the water and so pleasant, just sitting in one of the hammocks and cooling out. Edwin, the owner, is so nice. He is full of information about what to do in Timor, and even future travel plans (the best ways to travel, boat plans, you call it). He drove me to the consulate so that I could apply for my visa for Timor Leste and rent his scooter so that we could see the island. The hostel is also a two-minute walk to the night market where we had great fish, but Edwin ask to grill some fish for you!! It ensures the perfect night to sit around with some Bintangs and eat fresh fish with it!
Kupang meeting place! Lavalon is a amazing place to stay. Very central and with a beautiful seaview when you have breakfast/food or a cold beer. The owner Edwin is super friendly and helpful and can arrange many things for you, from renting a scooter to help with guides in the area. Also it is possible to arrange a tour around west Timor. For budget travellers you can share a car up to 6 people which makes it less expensive and of course more fun, just contact Edwin and he can help you with the best option. I really had a nice experience and without the help of Edwin I would not have this easy and nice trip. So I can definitely recommend to stay here or go on a tour!
Fantastic place, super chill atmosphere. The owner is incredibly thoughtful, will bring you tea or coffee all day, and his food is the tastiest in Kupang. You get to sit and watch the ocean from the common space, and the surrounding area has anything you might need markets, restaurants, bars, shopping areas as well as the beach (or a pier for those not very fond of sand). The obvious choice for those visiting Kupang, don't miss it!
We arrived to Kupang without any expectations rather than find a tacky clean hotel for overnight stay. Followed by Lonely Planet recommendation,we poped in Lavalon,a really clean, new and charming hostel at the coastline. Choose the room on the corner overlooking the beach and some green bushes,if you can. It is stunning. We enjoyed chatting with Edwin, the owner, and some of his local piers, all of them living legends. It was a magical unexpected and pleasant sunset evening! Will totally recommend it!
