The PumpHouse Restaurant + Bar

We were well received .Beautiful view over lake historically interesting with old original pumps part of atmosphere . Food choice for lunch were good but not big wraps on fish. Salads were very good Steaks good.Good choice of wines and beers.Special feature was waitress who took 6 people order meals and drinks by memory not one blemish.Child friendly

But....I chose the Pumphouse coz it was the number one spot on TripAdvisor to dine and I wanted to give a friend who had never been to the East Kimberley before, a memorable experience!!We had to book ahead to get a seat. Sat inside due to the darkness. It was incredibly hot and rather unpleasant. Very loud too with no sound proofing of the Pumphouse. Food was beautiful but could have been a bigger serve for the price; it was a MasterChef portion!!!Service was average. Beer menu is international rather than featuring quality Australian . Overall, it was a pleasant one-time experience, but I doubt I would return and I wouldn't recommend the Pumphouse when it's busy, because it's very, very noisy

We went with friends to watch the sunset a great place to chill and dine out. Look out for the specials on the beers, great atmosphere.

We had a couple of sunset drinks and some Belgian fries and we should have left it at that. Nice place, good atmosphere, friendly staff. However, we decided to order a couple of entrees for dinner (we have a small appetite), and they were very disappointing. We had the softshell crab and the pan fried scallops. For almost AU$20 each we got three scallops and could not find the crab in its batter. The main ingredient with the scallops was corn from a can, and the main ingredient with the crab was onion. There wasn't much on the plates at all, and even though they were only entrees, we had expected more for the price. Probably wouldn't go back to eat, but nice place for drinks. The options in Kununurra are quite limited, so it's worth a try. Maybe the mains are better...

Quirky place on the river, very original. We sat outside which provided us with a lovely cool breeze coming off the lake, very enjoyable. Will definitely return.
