Cafe Stovchen - Kreisfreie Stadt Koln

Luckily Cafe Stovchen was located around the corner from our hotel. Earlier in the day we had walked by and peeked into the window noticed the menu displayed . Also, noticed the funky decor, reminiscent of Seattle cafes. We returned for a late lunch. We were greeted by one of the “twin owners”. The proprietors are literally identical twins. We split the more than generous salad with tuna the pasta with a light creamy pfefferlinge mushroom sauce. It could’ve actually fed all 3 of us. I must also mention that the owner kept our glasses filled with nice cold water through our lunch. Which was a nice touch. Especially after the fact that we had paid 6 euro for a bottle of Italian water the day before at another local restaurant. All 3 of us were so impressed with the quality and generous portions of the meal that we are considering going back again during the remainder our 5 day stay in Cologne. Try it, You’ll like it.
