Chinoiserie - Kolkata

It's always wonderful to visit Chinoiserie. Special mention Crispy fried spinach (TRUST ME Even if you hate spinach you will LOVE this) and Lotus Stem

I had a highly annoying experience at the fine dining establishment because the table next to mine kept speaking loudly into their phones to cut deals and the management would not tell them to step out to take calls. This is a minimum in a fine dining place quiet and calm. Phone calls must be taken outside. Music and videos from phones must be prohibited. Conversations, loud laughter are fine and wonderful in fact. There is a musicality to the human voice and organic conversations. But one sided conversations, as all phone conversations are, are an absolute red flag. It is unprofessional of the management to not request such patrons to step out to take their calls. The food and service was very good, but service includes such concern for every diner's comfort, not only eating pleasure. Incompetent service from the reputed Taj group

Excellent food . One can have delicious Chinese dishes here .

It's a Chinese restaurant but the Chinese items weren't that special. They weren't bad, but I was expecting them to be better than other restaurants because it's the Taj. Anyway, it was overall a good experience and the non-Chinese items were very delicious, especially the dessert Chocolate Spring Roll. It would've been better if the ambience inside the restaurant was more Chinese-themed, just like Sonargaon is very India-themed. I liked the paintings of Chinese emperors kept in front of the restaurant.

Great decor and service. Food was nice and spices very subtle. We didn't like the Wok tossed Lamb to be very particular, also choice of Lamb dishes were limited. Rest portions were good and so also taste.
