Bidra med feedbackOkay I rarely write reviews but I asked someone local on Koh Lipe if you could eat at one restaurant tonight where would you go? They said Cappricio Lipe! They couldn’t be more right. Are you still reading this. Get down here and order Italian pasta with seafood and get the tiramisu. The wine was amazing. We enjoyed the Montepulciano red. You won’t be disappointed.
Wow.. The menu at this restaurant is perfectly balanced, designed for an authentic Italian family meal. The starters and pasta courses offer both classic favorites and hidden gems; the carbonara is made properly without cream. The meat selection is varied and delicious, with the tuna coated in pistachios being a standout dish. The dessert selection is also delicious, and the wine selection caters to all tastes. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the exceptional customer service provided by the passionate staff who clearly love what they do. We absolutely loved our experience at this place.
Lovely small place a few footsteps from walking street. The pizzas compete even those in Rome, and the homemade pasta was delightful. Lovely staff as well!
We barely managed to eke out a week of almost pure bliss on Koh Lipe just before this vicious pandemic third wave threw everything sideways and backward in Thailand. I’ve been saying the past several weeks that the wonderful memories we spent absorbing Lipe is about the only thing keeping me going through this dark summer of our discontent. One great memory my husband and I and our two friends have from Lipe is our dinner at this restaurant. We dropped by figuring we could easily snag a table after watching the sunset at Zodiac (and listening to Eve spin great tunes), but after wending our way back a small soi, it was obviously the kind of place where you needed a reservation. There weren’t a ton of tables, but the best ones were in the center in the open air, which is where we wanted to sit and because everyone there looked so happy with what they were eating, we made a reservation for the next evening. After a day of lazily sunning ourselves on the beach, we freshened up and headed to what ended up being some of the best Italian food I’ve had in a long time. There are several very good Italian restaurants in Bangkok, where we live, but the food we had here at Capriccio easily ranks as good, if not better. Other reviews can walk you through the options, but know that of four of us, we tried eight different things and no one was unhappy with anything (I especially enjoyed the vegetarian pizza, with huge pieces of broccoli topping a perfectly cooked crust. Other reviewers might complain about the slowness, and yes, things did take longer than maybe you think appropriate, but have easily acclimated to island time, we were fine nursing our drinks and sitting under the starry sky. When the food arrived, whatever length of time had passed was immediately forgotten as we stuffed our faces. The restaurant is reasonably priced for the quality of food, and will be on our list to return when we’re back on Lipe. This place is not to be missed and will add to the quality of your Lipe vacation. Highly recommended on all counts.
So glad we decided to try this lovely restaurant. We went there twice so I can leave a comment for 3 different pasta dishes. Bolognese: simply one of the best ones I had in Thailand, very original taste. Home made Tagliatelle with mushrooms (w. truffle oil : Tagliatelle cooked to perfection al dente, very good sauce, could have had a bit more truffle taste for my gusto. Aglio e Olio: as always perfect al dente and spiced to perfection. We also had a Rib Eye Steak ordered medium: cooked perfect as ordered, solid cut beautiful flavor. Serious skills on that one chef! Garnished with very fresh veggies and roasted potatoes. Red wine sauce also very good but actually don’t need with the rich flavor of the meat. Prices for me absolutely justified. Could have a better selection of wines but I guess that’s a great challenge on the island. Also the ambiance of this restaurant topps out others around. Although we found a couple other restaurants on the island with good food now the difference maker: the waiting staff! So friendly and upbeat, always smiling and we felt like we where served by good friends. Thanks to all! Hope the Grappa arrived ;
