Bidra med feedbackWe were a group of five people with age group between 60 85 years old and we had a great time for this Christmas luncheon. All of us have a global view/experience on food in general and Danish food in particular. We booked this Christmas luncheon late and honestly speaking we did not get our first choice so excited to try this new place called Gammel Torv. Food, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding and Ms. Ann and her colleagues made for a lovely afternoon. We had the Christmas menu and all the dishes were so good. Thank you for an unforgettable afternoon in this Copenhagen culinary gem. We will for sure be back.
If you want the genguine danish experince in food and drinks, this is it. The staff is great and help full, the atmosphere is loud and filled with laugh and conversation. my recommendation is to book a table and enjoy. I reccomend the schnaps lemmon and safron.
We had our last lunch in Copenhagen here. Had a couple hours to kill, found this place on Gammeltorv, and LOVED it! We sat outside, ordered smorrebrod I think we had a herring one and a smoked salmon one and good beers. Our waitress found out that we loved the Danish TV series Seaside Hotel and said a true Dane from that show would also order akvavit. So we did.
Excellent bistro with good atmosphere and lived up to appearances. Good price for such delicious food. A real sense of history
I was invited for lunch by friends who had been here before, it was my first time visiting the restaurant. Great location, traditional, nice, clean and simple. The menu is a bit on the small side, but as we all know, exactly that is sign of a good restaurant, who focus on less dishes but in return, turns them out in top quality! Front of house was run by the owners, a well functioning couple, with great wit, charm and attentiveness. The restaurant was full (as full as it’s allowed to be, in the corona re-opening times), which meant callers wishing to come for lunch were unable to eat here, yet kindly incur raged to pop by in case there was a no show. The restaurant was full of Danes, always a good sign, if locals eat at a restaurant, as they tend not to fall into tourist traps, because they know what good traditional food is meant to be and taste like. Also I could not help noticing, that it was a younger crowd, 25-40 years of age who chose this as the place to eat, so clearly tradition is living on rather well in the next generations. We all 3 really enjoyed our meal and no doubt a place we all like to return to. I’m danish myself, but writing in English, to ensure tourists don’t miss out of a authentic experience. Thanks to the restaurant team, for great food, nice service and a great afternoon!
