Bidra med feedbackUsually I look forward to having a snack in European airport hubs— having wonderful beer and maybe a sausage or some hummus is a small and unique pleasure. My experience at Pret has almost made me decide to no longer travel through Zurich. Because of poorly organized intercontinental transit, passengers are forced into the E terminal with unpredictable and inhospitable passport controls. Having passed this hurdle, right away they find that do not have the food options they had left in the larger terminals. Between Pret and Starbucks it is a truly grim choice. I picked up the crayfish sandwich — perhaps it’s a Swiss freshwater speciality, I naively thought- and the spicy chicken sandwich. The first was so bland as to almost be inedible, and the bread was just like the worst kind of bread we’d find in the US. The chicken wrap was hot but burnt and very much a disappointment. I appreciate that workers are “hard at work every day” to make fresh products, but perhaps Pret management might be a little less arrogant about travelers’ tastes and desires — trust me, you’d be better off choosing Starbucks.
I am devastated! Ready for nice Swiss snacks and a well-kept beer at the bar restaurant in Dock E at Zurich airport, before I board the plane to London, as usual. And they've replaced it with Pret! Nightmare! Overpriced, plastic-wrapped, plastic tasting, wannabe-healthy international cardboard fast-food fare. Is there no escape from this?
I love the sandwiches and soups. Pret a Manger is finally in Switzerland! There is also a branch on Landside. Very friendly staff at both stores, quick service, delicious coffee. But the prices are almost a disgrace, even for Zurich. You always have to really think about whether you want to treat yourself to something. I wanted to have another beer with it. In my opinion, charging 8 francs for a can (if I have it right) is just cheeky.
Super nice service, of course it is expensive but very tasty breakfast items and very nice straff.
Crazy expensive... but the blue cheese sandwich was actually quite good for airport snack standards I enjoyed it and would probably get it again. Service was also friendly.
