Stonegate Bistro - Kitchener

Hidden Family-Run Restaurant Gem: We made the decision to dine at Stonegate based on a restaurant review we read in the local paper.

We visited Kitchener for the first time after enduring a long, difficult drive through thunderstorms from Batavia all the way to Ontario.

If Crown Plaza recommends this restaurant, do yourself a favor and choose a different option.

This is a very interesting and wonderful place to eat. Everything on the menu is made from scratch using local ingredients. The use of spices gives the food a wonderful flavour that is unique. Good variety on the menu.The staff are very friendly, and take care of your every need, usually before you know you need it.The atmosphere is comfortable and intimate. Soft music in the background makes for easy conversation without having to speak over it. It is nicely lit, and decorated with the owners own artwork.This is the kind of place where you go with friends and family, for good food, great atmosphere and a moment of relaxation.It should be a MUST on everyone's list.Check website for hours of operation.

What a great meal! Started with a great size of the the Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese soup which was creamy and wonderful followed by Grilled Vegetables Plate and the mushroom flatbread that was completely covered with dressing and a nice chilli spice. Finished with a a mixed salad and steak. The meal was wonderful and I highly recommend this place!
