Bidra med feedbackStick to the wings, fries, and beer. Spending $40 on a fatty minute steak and four shrimp is not worth it. If you don't want your chilly baked potato smothered in BBQ sauce, make sure to ask for it on the side. Who in their right mind puts BBQ sauce on a baked potato anyway? The appetizers were advertised as half price, but it seems like they were just kidding, and they were served cold. Stick to the basics and you won't leave disappointed.
A group of our local friends took us to this restaurant for dinner. They had a vegan option on the menu, and a few vegetarian items that could be customized. The potato patty was delicious! The non-vegan options also looked very tasty. The server was friendly and attentive. While there was outdoor patio seating available, we chose to dine inside. The decor was impressive. We would definitely return to this restaurant again.
Meals were fun and tasty. No complaints. The 'rug rats ' were catered for and adults chilled with cocktails and cold beers. Probably best to make a booking for evenings.
Vienna's is a pretty typical/average bar and grill, it's not bad, but not great either. My family and I came up to Kirkland Lake to visit for a couple of days and take care of some errands. Vienna's is pretty prominent in town and it seems to be pretty popular with the locals, but I suspect it is because Kirkland Lake lacks many grills. The atmosphere is pretty typical of a bar and grill, complete with big screen TVs everywhere. it was nice that they dressed up the restaurant for the holidays though, lots of Christmas decorations and lights. So the festive touch is appreciated. Our server was friendly and accommodating, but a little forgetful. I don't blame her necessarily because there was a big party of 20+ people, but it felt like she was the only waitress in the restaurant. We had to wait a long time for drinks and appetizers. The food is just average pub food. Mostly prefrozen and fried. The calamari was ok, but was kind of expensive $11) for the amount you got. Our entres were not hot when they came to us, which was annoying, once again it was like there was only a single cook and waitress in the whole restaurant. I ordered the pan fried Cajun pickerel with rice and vegetables for $20, it wasn't bad, the shrimp on top of the fish was well seasoned, but the fish and rice were both lacking flavour. The dipping sauce that came with it was good, but it was a sweet Thai chili sauce pre packed in a plastic cup. A sweet Thai sauce is counter productive to a dryer, spicy Cajun seasoning. It does not mesh well. Overall, Vienna's is average. The staff are nice, but the food is lacking in flavour. Unfortunately there are few grills in Kirkland Lake, so options are limited.
Typical pub/ sports bar with annoying replays constantly on a big screen). The food was ok : my Reuben sandwich was a bit greasy. Fair selection of beers.
