Bidra med feedbackRSL clubs are part of the social fabric of Australia and you can usually be assured of getting a good meal at a reasonable price where ever you go. Unfortunately, the bistro in this one is not quite up to the standard that I expected. The food was satisfactory to good, with out being great. I made the mistake of going on a Friday night, which is Karaoke night. While it certainly brought in a really good crowd, with virtually all tables taken, it succeeded in chasing me out, quickly.
I recently went to the RSL and got a meal for two people. The first dish we tried was the Nachos and it was terrible. The chips were bland and covered in a dried-out, overheated sauce. It was almost impossible to eat. The beef roast was also disappointing, with 4 slices of pre-cooked beef that lacked flavor, runny mashed potatoes, and a sauce that was just a solid blob. It seems like the chef doesn't really care about the quality of the food.
RSL is one of the few clubs to go to in Kingaroy but there's no happy atmosphere here. The bistro is hired and the chef said most of the meals come in vac packs. I had lamb fillet steamed tasteless and inedible. I live in the area but I do not take my visitors to dine here. I refuse to pay for another miserable experience.
This cozy small-town club appears to have undergone expansion or refurbishment in recent years. The food was decent and typical for RSLs, though prices were slightly higher than expected.
The RSL Club in Kingaroy is a typical representation of the town, with a somewhat bland atmosphere and average food. While the food is better than some other places, it is still nothing special and the other menu options don't stand out.
