Bidra med feedbackFirst time at this place and the food was surprisingly good. Salsa was a little spicy and tasty which is one if the first things we notice when eating Mexican cuisine. Everything was hot and tasty. Best tamales I've had in the area for sure. Super tender beef and tasty! Be careful for the burria sayse it is a bit spicy and kids out too much!Enchiladas were some of the best also.
Fajitas were dry and overcooked, limited vegetables, guacamole was

Placed a to-go order, Combo Platter. It stated 4 pc fish, 4 shrimp, fries, salad. What I got was: 2 pieces of fish, 4 shrimp I would not have put in my gumbo, that small, a handful of lettuce with 1end slice of tomato. The salsa for the cold chips was pasta sauce. Price :$16.99 and I gave a tip even though it was take out. I am from Houston so I know what Mexican food should taste like, this ain't Mexican. Pass it up and stop by Subway.
No place is perfect, but for a small family owned restaurant in Kinder, LA, it's pretty good. My server was friendly and attentive. The food was slightly salty but delicious, and the temperature and speed of service were respectable. The Blue Diamond Margaritas were pretty good.?My overall experience is that if you are in the Kinder area and are craving Mexican or Tex-Mex, I would recommend giving El Maguey a try.
