Bidra med feedbackI went, with great eagerness, for my first post- Covid visit, with a long list of books I wanted to buy, and the anticipation of a nice meal in the cafe. I was disappointed on both counts: the shop is poorly stocked, and the one rather off-hand assistant had no knowledge of the books available, or where things might be located. The cafe was closed, although there was no mention of this on the website. Very annoyed with the whole experience.
In the heart of Notting Hill a small and very nice surprise: this bookshop hides a small bar where the owners are very friendly and food is very good (there is no menu everyday they cook something new so there is not much choice). I really recommend it for a little break
The restaurant was closed during my visit, but if you love being in the kitchen, or know someone who does, Books for Cooks is a must-visit. Although tiny, cookery books line the walls to the ceiling. Books arranged by interest makes browsing easy. This little space also features a café and offers its own cookbook. Staff is as charming as the shop. 4 Blenheim Cres.
I could have spent hours here! This place has a very unique atmosphere, very charming, a hidden gem in Notting hill. I’ve discovered so many great english cook books!
The Friday menu was top. Having lunch in a book shop is an experience we had in Brussels too, but here it's not a restaurant with books for sale, you are directly in the book shop with a couple of tables for lunch. Great menu. Great flavored ambiance. I loved it.
