Big Shanty Smokehouse - Kennesaw

I visit Big Shanty Smokehouse and always enjoy the quality both in the food and service. Everyone there has been wonderful each time I go. Sometimes it?s a work lunch and sometimes to go and I bring dinner home for the family. I?ve had almost everything onthe menu. The brisket is my favorite and go to with the Mac and cheese. There is consistency in flavor and the portions areenough to bring some for lunch the next day. The banana pudding is a must, even if you?re full get it to go and enjoy it later.So good.

We visited this restaurant for dinner recently and we are so glad we did. The Killer Ribs were delicious, the pulled chicken was amazing, the sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and spices, and the banana pudding was fantastic. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and we can't wait to come back!

I had a great time at this gluten-free friendly restaurant! The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any questions. I particularly enjoyed the ribs and brisket from the sampler platter.

I would not come back to this restaurant or suggest it to others. The food was well below average - the brisket was tough and the chicken was not better than a Walmart rotisserie. The banana pudding was old and not appetizing. The portions were small considering the high prices. The BBQ sauce was too tangy for my taste, I prefer a sweeter and smokier flavor over watery vinegar-based sauces. As someone who makes their own banana pudding from scratch, I know the difference in texture and freshness of ingredients.

I have eaten at many of the BBQ places in the area. First time at Big Shanty. I was pleased. Super friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Great sauce. The meats were good, not too dry, had bark and had some smoke flavor, but I prefer a a flavor whenyou just know it was smoked for hours. Rating: 4.5.
