Storgammen - Karasjok

This restaurant is pure unpolished diamond!!!! I found it by looking for place to drink coffee in Karasjok. The restaurant is abdominal and should represent culture/living heritage of Sami people. Food is excellent. But this restaurant is not about food, it is about experience and atmosphere, sitting around fire and llistening half music. If you go through Karasjok and miss this place, your great loss. Restaurant is absolute must!

An amazing and immersive experience in the Sami world for the environment and the site itself, but not so much for your letter. The variety is not very extensive although its dishes are very tasty.Respect to treatment and service, very friendly and close at all times.prices somewhat elevated but to say... in Norway everything is something more expensive

Not worth it. Try the Cafe down the road instead. Less commercialized. If you do decide to go make sure you make reservations. You will sit in a room with about 20 people. There is no in and out around a table(stump) that sits at your knees. If you don't have reservations they will feed you, fast and rushed with okay service. They won't lite the fire so the mosquitos will get you nor will they serve their appetizer bread. Food is okay but the Reindeer was better at Sami Siida in Alta and I feel that place was more authentic and the price more appropriate than Storgammen. Expect tour busses to take up large spaces at Storgammen. That appears to be their main market.
