Despite the limited vegan options, the two dishes I sampled were superb. The spaghetti with pesto had a delightful touch of olive oil and sweet basil, a rare find in Kaohsiung, while the sweet burrito with homemade tomato sauce was a true standout. As someone who typically avoids Western dishes in Asia, I was pleasantly surprised by this experience. I recommend fans of Western cuisine to give this place a try.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was initially thrown off by the menu which had Chinese/English headings (Burrito, Burger, Beverage, etc.) but all other information in Chinese. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the owner spoke fluent English and explained that the menu was mainly in Chinese due to financial constraints. We discussed potential solutions to this language barrier. The owner was knowledgeable about vegan diets and recommended dishes accordingly, steering me away from non-vegan options. Despite limited vegan choices, the spaghetti with pesto and vegetable burrito that I tried were excellent. The spaghetti used olive oil and sweet basil, which is not commonly found in Kaohsiung. The vegetable burrito featured a homemade tomato sauce that was absolutely delicious. I typically do not seek out Western food in Asia, but this experience was a delightful surprise. I would recommend this restaurant to fans of Western cuisine.
