Ej's Urban Eatery - Kansas City

Always a favorite of ours. We love the laid back vibe and knowing everything is super fresh and farm-to-table. The mac n cheese is great, squash casserole to die for. We never come here without getting shrimp and grits... The grits are so creamy and awesome. I love the staff, the bartenders and the family style seating. I also never leave without dessert make time to make it here!!

Hubby and I went here for Sunday brunch, and we both loved it!! Everyone needs to try this place, great food I had the meatloaf sandwich and squash casserole-heaven), extremely reasonable prices, and hubby's breakfast ribs were fantastic. Thank you EJ's staff for a great brunch. Oh yeah, very convenient to KCK and to downtown KCMO, will go again soon

We have eaten at EJs a number of times and it's always fantastic food and a comfortable environment. Recently we had a wedding rehearsal dinner for about forty people there and it was amazing. John and Eric were great to plan the night and they offered their expertise at choosing foods and presentation for the event. All went perfect. The food was outstanding with every dish amazing in itself. We had so many people praise the food and asking how we had found such a great place. The staff was attentive and personable and made the evening that much more of a success. The next day at the wedding people were still talking about the great food at EJs rehearsal dinner. Be it for breakfast , lunch, or a special event you'd be hard pressed to find better food and people than EJs Urban Eatery

The food was delicious, Theresa our server was so attentive and sweet. Half of our group had breakfast, half had burgers which were fantastic. I cant wait to go back for the brisket. I believe this is a West Bottoms hidden gem.

Service was great very friendly and attentive. Food “slap your momma good”. Wife and I had the blackened catfish and brisket cheese sandwich. Both outstanding. As for sides the Mac and cheese, dirty rice, and fried green tomatoes were by far the best we have ever had. Huge let down when we got to the frys, I was expecting a wow factor but they were just frys. Lol. Still they were cooked perfect. Will eat there every chance we get. We are new to Missouri and can’t wait to take all of our visiting family and friends to EJ’s.
