Brio Tuscan Grille - Kansas City

VERY disappointing experience. We had reservations for Easter brunch, and were seated upstairs on the 2nd floor next to the bar and essentially forgotten, no other patrons were seated there and the restaurant was not that full. We refilled our own drinks, the server never checked once, so we asked the bartender for ice and got our own tea from a pitcher there. We did not get bread as requested, our food order was wrong, with one dish undercooked and not edible. The server saw the error but served it anyway. We set it aside and had it removed the only time he came back to leave the check. When we were initially seated, we saw the tablecloth was dirty and had not been changed between patrons and had to request clean linen and napkins (gross). Brio's used to be a favorite spot. Not any longer. Poor service, mediocre meals, dirty table and area, and then listened to the waiter complain to the bartender that the back kitchen got the order wrong and his tip would be less. Just not up to par and not worth what we paid. We should've probably left early on, it went from bad to worse. Several commented that we should have gone to Olive Garden, it would have been much better. Just a poor experience for a Plaza restaurant.

I'm honestly shocked that the reviews fare a 4.1 star. I recently visited this establishment and I have to say while my group and I waited at the bar, service was awful to start with. Then as we were being seated our waiter was very inattentive maybe unexperienced but the service was as bad as at the bar. The food selection was not that great then when we actually got our food it was less than mediocre. I'm not a fan of the Olive garden but the Olive garden food was better. It did not taste homemade and anyway it tasted like frozen Italian food that was warmed up. This restaurant is extremely overpriced for the less than mediocre food. You could go to Sunbury place simple like Italian delight or Dominic's and get better quality food for way less money. I will never waste the money to come back to this restaurant. The Bro pasta that I ordered literally had two small strips of chicken. Not worth the 20 plus dollars that it cost!
