Kwan's Chinese Restaurant - Kamloops

Two friends and I had the buffet last night and it was mediocre at best. Not very many people were in the restaurant,,very slow Friday night. The buffet was average...not alot of food because the restaurant was empty...the ginger beef was excellent as was the dim sum. The chow mein and rice however lacked flavour and the wonton soup had no flavour whatsoever, the wontons themselves were flavourless. too bad because in the past I have had good quality food here, but I guess they were having a bad night. Service was excellent though and the owners are very nice so I would give it another chance down the road.

You know the food has to be good when the parking lot is fu L at lunch time. Have always enjoyed the buffet as the food is fresh and hot. We will be back

I stop by this restaurant for lunch today. Upon walking into the restaurant it was probably 32 degrees inside. It was like a wall of heat hit me as soon as I walked in. Not sure if the air conditioning was broken or they just had the heat on because it was a little cooler outside (21 as opposed to the plus 40s we were getting last week). I decided to try the buffet for lunch. Everything was hot and the things that were supposed to be crispy were, the food was not overly greasy. Everything tasted pretty good. Overall they had a really great selection of stuff for lunch. I probably would have rated them a for had it not been so hot in the restaurant. It was quite uncomfortable and my face is sweating from the heat within a couple of minutes. I legitimately could only sit there for about 10 minutes. I didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the food. Just shoveled it in and lock the restaurant 10 minutes after I got there. I would definitely try it again in hopes that it isn't so hot inside. The food was actually good which is more than I can say for most of the Chinese places I've tried in this town.

I have eaten here on several occasions for lunch smorg. Good and hot and decent. The food is fresh and there is a good variety on the buffet.

Pepper salt squid with a Tsingtao beer, and finish with the wor wonton, that's our indulgence! Service good, everything fresh.
