Citrus Restaurant and Lounge - Kamloops

My husband and I came for dinner. The meal was excellent and the dessert was incredible.

So of course I have misplaced my notes with his name but my waiter at breakfast is exactly what this hotel needs. Friendly, efficient, engaging. I will say his name is Carlos but I will be wrong. He has worked at this location with all the changes of brands and ownerships for over 20 years. We had great conversations. I went out for a walk and on my return he quickly refilled my coffee. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: This guy is a brand ambassador --- a ready for a raise! Treat him well!

My husband and I were staying at the double tree and decided to eat in the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The burgers were great and so were the Cesar salads. We also ate breakfast here the next morning which was good for buffet style. Between dinner and breakfast, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We are from Kamloops and heard there was a new chef at citrus which within walking distance of our home. We have tried it before and have been extremely disappointed in the past.Hearing that there was a new Chef we decided to take a chance. What an amazing meal! We shared the calamari fries and cheese plate to start. New tastes but with a BC flavors with the cheese plate! The pork tenderloin that was cooked to perfection and the duck was divine! Service was excellent as was the wines that were offered all from Kamloops. If you are looking to try to try something that is a hidden gem check this place out!

First off, Claudio our waiter was great. Efficient, professional, and proactive - awesome service. The food, meh. I had the rice bowl and it was tiny - seriously - it was extremely small. The crispy tofu was almost non existent. The rest of the veg was fresh enough I suppose. Just can't get over how hungry was leaving this place.
