Bidra med feedbackWe enjoyed a huge bowl of wonton soup that was both hot and delicious, as well as the expected roast duck and crispy chicken. If I lived in Canberra, this would definitely be a regular dining spot for me.
Brilliant food. <br/ <br/ had the laksa which had all the authentic flavourings but needed to be a little bit more intense, maybe a bit more fish sauce. but very impressive for a place that doesn't specialize in laksa<br/ <br/ century egg congee was nice. Cruellers (short bread) were delicious and hot. <br/ <br/ duck was very well presented, meat was fresh and well textured. <br/ <br/ only complain with be lay out and lighting. i felt the really cool lighting temperature and table lay out felt a bit outdated. Food is perfect.
Okay, I probably went to Tak Kee more than I should. But honestly, I can never get enough of their roast pork, roast duck, and wonton soup. Reasonable price, always packed during dinner time, generous portions. Claimed to be the oldest Chinese bbq in Canberra, their roasts are just perfect. Other dishes are also great, although I keep getting the same thing each time.
Surprising quality for Dickson and a bargain (for Canberra) at $14.50 for roast duck with noodles and won tons. Really nice duck and a decent serving of it, with a lot of noodles and veges. Won tons arrived 10 minutes later and had a tasty filling although a rather soft exterior. Note that hours listed on websites vary wildly but the correct ones are 11am-10pm except closed Tuesdays.
Really happy with my dinner experience here. They had really friendly prompt service and I was served tea as soon as I was seated. I had a roast duck noodle soup portion size was generous and the dish was not too salty! The oyster sauce vegetable I had for my side dish was very tasty and of a good portion as well. During my meal, there were plenty of people coming in for takeaway. Will definitely be back for a quick cheap and decent feed.
