Bidra med feedbackWas in town on vacation for my birthday weekend decided to have my birthday dinner with the family on Saturday night at Nippon. It was my first time there and after reading the reviews prior to going I knew the ambiance food will be a hit! We were greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess and was immediately seated. We sat at one of the four hibachi tables, and looking around it is a family friendly resturant as there were other families celebrating as well. We ordered sushi platter for appetizer and for entree had hibachi chicken steak , filet mingnon, steak w shrimp chicken teriyaki which all was delicious! For dessert we tried the fried cheescake fried ice cream and it was a delicious treat!! Nippon is traditionally decorated and even features floor seating.
We have been coming here for s year now the place is always great the service is always on point Very knowledgable staff great saki selection A home run
So... I had high hopes. I love hibachi and my man loves sushi. Unfortunately we were both very disappointed. The two waitresses once the business picked up seemed a bit stressed and just seemed to want us to leave. As for the food it was beyond lackluster. I got the filet and shrimp hibachi (non 'show ' style) which came with soup. The soup was really good. The shrimp was the size of large cashews, very over cooked and tasted like nothing really... No seasoning at all. The filet was cooked well and tasted good. The rice and veggies again had no flavor. I think the reason behind the no flavor was the cooking technique. I watched a live hibachi session while we were there and they didn 't use butter/garlic like every other place when cooking. My man got a few rolls and 1 hand roll and 2 sashimi rolls including the salmon skin roll. The salmon skin roll was not crunchy as it should have been and had little flavor. One of the rolls was very large and thus difficult to eat. Overall he said all the rolls were not great in anyway and would never recommend their sushi as it didn 't taste like good ingredients. On a side note we asked for 'a lot ' of spicy mayo and they brought about 2 tablespoons... Which for my man is about enough for 3 pieces. We asked for more and she came back with the same amount and said 'since there are more people here he (the sushi chef) is busy and can 't give you more ' wtf... Really???!!! You should have a squeeze bottle of it and give it out freely.... Guess not here. The bill (which includes an 18% standard gratuity included since we had a restaraunt.com coupon) was $70 after the discount. We had filet/shrimp hibachi $23 and 2 full rolls 1 hand roll and 2 single sashimi, 1 large saki and 2 beers. Seems a bit high to me... Especially for the quality of food and lack of consistently friendly service. Stay away from this place... Not worth the time or money.
Came here on a sunday night. This place was in a mall near a Publix. Obviously no wait since I arrived 30 before closing. My waitress was very prompt (maybe since she didnt want to work late. This resturant had tables, sushi bar seating and seats around a chef/cooktop. I ordered a birthday roll (tempura inside w eel on outside. The tempura was crisp and eel tasted fresh. My salmon skin handroll was disappointing. The salmon was ok and it fell apart as i ate it. i also had a hamachi hand roll. It held togther much better but the freshness or cut of fish was average. Overall what I would expect from a Japanese restaurant in Jupiter FL.
With the closing of our former favorite, Sushi King, my wife and I were desperate to find a replacement. I think we just found it at Nippon. The menu is interesting and portions are generous. Service is excellent and very friendly. We will definitely be back!
