Iron Skillet - Joplin

There is nothing wrong with the place, its your average Iron Skillet. I have no complaints. The waitress i had was amazing. I had a steak and baked potato and it was all made the way I had asked. It is definitely worth coming to if you're in the area.

We had a party of 8. We all had a decent breakfast here. It was pricey for truck stop food. There was something on the menu that everyone wanted. The steak was a little over cooked but everyone else's food was perfectly cooked. We had quick and attentive service.

I came to this restaurant because of 5 star rating. That was a joke. Food was barely warm, mashed potatoes like glue. Country fried steak was hard not freshly cooked. The Sunday chef was off his or her game today The gravy was good and if it was hot, it would've been great. Green beans were burnt and not edible. Wait staff was great. Don't think I'll come on Sunday to eat here again.

My two stars are based on the environment, the service, the food, and the wait time. Needless to say, I was not impressed. The only reason I stopped there was because I had kids who had been in the car way too long and needed food and I needed to get gas. I didn’t have time to look for something else. I wish I had because there were much better options just down the road. The first impression of the place is that they don’t care about their first impressions. Half of their booths and seats are not even available because either they are roped off or they are disassembled. This makes seating difficult because no one is there to seat you. You have to find a seat yourself. The decor is also very shabby and lacking. The staff are friendly enough. Perhaps too friendly. They just kept hovering and talking about my kids which, for the most part, doesn’t bother me but can be annoying when you are trying to handle issues amongst your kids or if you just want to eat in peace. The food took a rather long time to come out and was very poor in taste for the horrendous price they charged. I watched tables get cleared but not wiped down before another group sat at them. This is another issue with guests seating themselves. Allowing them to sit at an unwashed table is just gross. All in all, I’d suggest steering clear from this facility at all costs. Go ahead and just drive the extra five minutes to a much better establishment where you can eat decent food in a comfortable setting with much more professional staff.

Environment 0 stars. These idiots have 150 seats, but only 14 are available to sit at. I watched 10 drivers leave frustrated because there wasn’t anywhere to sit… Covid IS OVER! Go visit any restaurant in Texas… 100% open no issues. 99.9% of people survive this. Stop watching the news. Food 1 star, came here for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was plated like a pile of hog slop, everything piled in the middle. For dinner I had a burger, that had the texture of a dry, frozen meatloaf instead of a burger. Furthermore, they gave me condiment packets instead of fresh condiments. I could go to the convenience store across the street and get what I got here much cheaper. Fries were good. Staff 2.5 star, they were nice, but they let tables stay dirty that people could have sat at.
