Cute little place tucked away in the corner of the plaza.. I didn't get the steak today it was raining so I got potatoe soup wit chicken. Let me tell u the chicken was so soft n juicy melted n my mouth. The flavor of the soup was delicious I was expecting creamy but it's ok their style. Add some lime to the soup is a explosion of unexpected zing????????.. gotta love these Mexicans.. the beans had bacon in them Soo good n weren't refried.. I got a smoothie I swear it wasjust a margarita without alcohol). Imo stay as way from the fried ice cream... I thought it said gram not granola... No1 lol Ike ice cream n oats..???? great engery n staff very attentive. Alot of fine in space.. bring the family ??
The service is horrible. Tacos covered in tomato and onions barely meat, meats dry but refried beans watery and no flavor, my sons quesadilla mostly cheese and COLD. They have no restaurant educate. 5 of us visiting, only 1 person got a full order in before the waitress walked away. We are all original from NY so we order fast but apparently not fast enough. The waitress never came back, my daughter had to find her. She returned with old browning guacamole pre-made for theday, and disgusting wet plates with queso cheese left on them all from god knows where. All of the plates came HOT with COLD food on them. What in the pre-made world is going on. The manager came back asking us to stay and offered to beour server but began to excuse the previous server saying maybe she was dealing with something. I have no problem with giving a break but this was just unbelievable and disgusting. This is still a restaurant/business and I'm still a payingcustomer.
I?ve been coming here for 4 years and I?ve waited to see if things got better over the last 6 months. The manager, Monday 7/18 at 7:30pm is dismissive, interrupting, rude, and insisted everything is the same. Unfortunately it is not the same. Our shrimp was undercooked and lacks the pop of cooked shrimp. It was mushy and wasn?t seasoned. The salsa is either sour or not seasoned or has too much tomato and was awful. The worst part is the manager not taking the time tolisten to the customer. And the staff is dejected as well, I would know being that I go here often. I couldn?t imagine they are getting treated by customers very nicely considering what I assume is just poor management and chefs behindscenes. Moreover the health rating is a 78. I?ve recently had the same meal, Texas Fajitas, at Senor Patron the week before at Avalon and it was far superior. I will not be coming back to the Johns Creek location. And I would not give thisrestaurant any stars. And just 2 years ago it was much better. I?ve seen this manager here for these years as well so I feel bad even writing this bc I know he?s seen better too. I?m trying to not be overly critical, however this locationhas been struggling with consistency for about a year. The manager Insisting that the product is the same when I?m a regular customer telling you it is not the same is the final reason why I have decided to write a review. I suggest goingto the Avalon location. Johns Creek is treading water and probably should be reported.
After being sat and presented with chips and salsa, no one came to greet us or acknowledge our existence for 15 minutes. No water. No fly by to tell us they would be right with us. Eventually I stood up and tracked down a server, who apologized by telling me that I just need to be patient, that sometimes he has to wait 20 minutes before he gets service. As if because he had poor service somewhere else, I deserved the same. I was ready to leave, but the kids were hungry,so I fed them, but ate nothing myself. Not giving this restaurant any more of my money than required.
