Dave Raststätte Am Wildbach

We had personal reasons to visit the tiny Sachsen village of Steinbach and we pleased to see a sign at the local train station (now a museum with a weekly steam train from nearby Johstadt indicating the existence of this restaurant. What a find! Friendly Mario helped us order, even customizing an amazing salad for us. He also explained a bit about Steinbach and its history and gave us pointers on how to look around. We sat outside, under an umbrella where we could enjoy the burbling of the nearby stream and watch the mill stream that used to power Steinbach's paper mill (mill stones on display down the lane .
