Bidra med feedbackThe Fortica restaurant (pronounced Fortezza) is located at one end of the port of Sucuraj (pronounced Súchura), specifically on the left side of the port as you look out to sea, roughly at the same height but on the opposite shore of where the Jadrolinja ferries arrive and depart, connecting this peaceful end of the island of Hvar with the town of Drvenik on the Croatian coast. If I'm not mistaken, although the walk along the coast continues, Fortica is the last restaurant on this left side of the port. It was a restaurant recommended to us by the owner of the apartment where we stayed for a night, who said it might not be the cheapest in town, but that the "quality-price" ratio was unbeatable. That was the reason we went to dine at this restaurant, which we honestly found to be wonderful. We dined on the terrace, right on the harbor, with well-lit tables, and despite it being August, in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere that invited us to enjoy a particularly quiet and romantic dinner. I can confirm that there may be cheaper places in Sucuraj, but I don't know if they have the same quality of cuisine. The Fortica menu was full of seafood and fresh fish at good prices, and as I said, everything was quite affordable. For starters, we shared a "frutti di mare risotto" that was to die for, as well as being a considerable portion. Then we ordered "Cozze (mussels) a la buzzara," and were served a good tray of mussels with a kind of sauce typical of the Croatian coast that was delicious, seriously, a delicacy. Finally, to taste the fresh fish from the island of Hvar, we ordered grilled sea bass accompanied by a simple but very tasty tomato salad. As you can see in the photo, the sea bass was simple, grilled, and perfect, but I assure you it had an incredible flavor. Honestly, everything was splendid, especially when accompanied by the house white wine, which is served in a liter bottle and costs around 10 euros. Without dessert because we were already full, and with two coffees, the dinner came to just over 30 Euros. I assure you that based on what we saw and tasted, the quality of the seafood and fish is excellent in this restaurant, and dining peacefully on the terrace by the harbor, watching the ferries arrive and depart, is an unforgettable experience. I'm glad we took the advice of the homeowner where we stayed, it was definitely a great choice that we would surely repeat if we were to return to Sucuraj, because we have an indelible memory of this restaurant, especially for the quality of the food we had, the exquisite attention we received, and above all, for the quiet and intimate atmosphere of the restaurant and its surroundings, which made the evening priceless and perfect.
The Fortica restaurant, pronounced "fortezza," is situated at the end of the port of Sucuraj, pronounced "schura," on the left side with beautiful sea views. It is one of the last restaurants along this side of the port, where ferries from Jadrolinja depart for Drvenik on the Croatian coast. Recommended by the owner of the apartment where we stayed, we found that although it may not be the cheapest option in the village, the quality-price ratio was unbeatable. We had a delightful dinner on the terrace, enjoying the peaceful and romantic atmosphere. The menu was full of fresh seafood and fish at reasonable prices. The seafood risotto and mussels in a delicious sauce were particularly outstanding. We also tried the grilled sea bass, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Paired with a bottle of house white wine, the meal was satisfying and affordable. Overall, the quality of the food, the attentive service, and the tranquil setting make Fortica a memorable dining experience. We will definitely return if we come back to Sucuraj.
