Grandma's Place - Jasper

Very brightly decorated but small premises in the main shopping street of Jasper. 66 flavours of Ice Cream which is more choice than anyone can want. The homemade Grandma’s brand is gorgeous and a generous helping of ice cream in a choice of cones or...tub.

Between the two of us we had four different chocolate flavors of the homemade ice cream. All were creamy, thick and delicious.

There was a ton of various flavors. Most were your everyday flavors you can get from any ice cream place. The gem of this location is that there is a section dedicated to house made ice cream. We got 2 cones each with one scoop...and they ended up being different sizes. One was a very generous scoop and the other I would consider an appropriate amount. This location is small and very busy. There is a small bench outside the front of the shop but not appropriate seating for the traffic flowing through the shop. Since it is located on the main street of Japser you could continue on your way to find seating elsewhere.

Grandma’s ice cream offers a ton of delicious flavours to choose from, but what sets this place apart from the other ice cream parlours in town is it’s wonderful and friendly staff. This was actually my first time ever taking my daughter for ice cream...because she has a peanut allergy and most places don’t do much to minimize cross contamination with peanuts. But the staff here were very professional and knowledgeable and they took the time to make sure she could safely get a scoop. We really appreciated the extra steps they took to accommodate for her! We will definitely visit again during our next trip yo jasper.

The ice cream quality is excellent and the variety of homemade flavors is extremely wide and impressive. I particularly enjoyed the Highway 93 flavor. I also appreciate that they offer waffle cones as a standard option. The staff is very attentive to allergies; when we informed our server about my child's nut allergy, they guided us to safe flavors and made sure the ice cream was served with a clean spoon to prevent cross-contamination. Thank you for being so diligent in ensuring our safety.
