Bidra med feedbackWow! The schnitzel is from the charts. Large German square with many of the same customs. If you are looking for a fast American meal, calm down. Eat long meals in Europe. Enjoy the slower pace and know what you get. Everything was delicious and amazing. As mentioned, the carving is a must try. It is delicate and baked exactly right; Couples amazingly good with their cranberry sauce. Spatzel is also very tasty and hearty. Fondue was good and very full, safe and hungry. The atmosphere is very well done and in my opinion another top place to eat in Jacksonville.
I would have said 3.5 if there was an option. That being said, we had dinner by the bar. Bar staff were excelent ad friendly. Armosphere was good. Food was good. The beer was good too. This is German food only it appears. I wish I had more to say.
Service is amazing, great ambiance and awesome variety of drinks. The only negative thing is the limited selection of food items. Our bartender was fantastic
I loved the look of this place immediately. Can definitely be worth 5 stars, but we didn't eat here, so rating is based on drinks and decor only. The servers are all dressed in German gear, which I loved! The bar was already full and getting louder the longer we stayed. My friend commented on this being the place to check out for Oktoberfest, and I agree!! He ordered a beer, which he really liked. I ordered the mule, which is one of the best mules I have had. Appreciate the fact that they add extra ginger on top of ginger beer. We shared a pretzel with cheesy sauce. It's more his palate than mine, but I enjoyed the few pieces I tasted. It's beautifully arranged. Love the bookstand against the wall, the pictures, the lighting etc. Unfortunate that we had already eaten before we got here.
Heard a lot about this place and decided we had better check it out because we do love German cuisine and Beer. Got there was pleased to see how nice it looked at night all lit up. 6:30 pm Had about a 30 min wait and was directed to the Bar. Had a Hefeweizen and a Pilsner. Pilsner was great as well as the Hef. Ordered The Spicy and regular bratwurst and the Fish and chips which had a price listing as seasonal. We were told it was Halibut, now we’ve had some amazing F&C’s with Thick juicy Halibut Chunks and at that price point of $13 I should have backed up but it’s Oregon fresh Halibut right? They were no bueno. Seemingly caught fresh from the Freezer, it was made right by our server and desert was free. I loved my Bratwurst but they could have been a bit more juicy but oh well. I will go back and try some other dishes. The appetizers we ordered were the Cabbage Rolls. They were bland and more gravy than meat I’m afraid. We may just hit the sampler tray next time sans those. The Pretzel was Bomb but the Bechamel’ish Dip didn’t do it for me. Nacho cheese or mustard would have done it though. All in all well go back to try the other food and make a final decision to go for beers or Dinner. Thanks to our server she was awesome!! Go check it out for yourself see what you think.
