German Schnitzel Haus - Jacksonville

What a gem! Wonderful food, friendly and helpful staff. Portions are large and the food is very good. Definitely a great find.

GERMAN SCHNITZEL HAUS IS CLOSING per email sent to their customer list 3/22/2022 at 8:53 am, see below. So sad! Nothing is perfect, but it was very good. I 'm guessing their location HIDDEN behind a large Whole Foods did not help draw customers. The Thai restaurant before them also didn 't survive despite having also been a good place. German food is severely limited in the Jacksonville restaurant scene. The other place is an upscale beer hall with a much smaller menu of upscale food and appetizers, very expensive comparatively, but good. GSH will be very much missed from the Jax food scene! German Schnitzel Haus is closing With a heavy heart, after 16 years in business, the German Schnitzel Haus is closing. During that time we have had the great pleasure of serving our lovely customers, many of whom have become good friends. We have also been blessed with great employees. From Gitta who met everyone with a smile and made our wonderful desserts, to the constant smile and joyfulness of our two Katrina 's. And we will not forget Wayne, who has been a solid supporter of the restaurant as our Front of the House Manager, for over 5 years. It 's wonderful employees like these and customers like yourselves that make this decision to close very difficult. Thanks to all for your longstanding support!!

Excellent service. Amazing and authentic German food!

Manager decided to cap off our meal by being rude, followed by inconsiderate. Judging by the condition of the restaurant and wealth of empty tables, this probably isn't a luxury they have... another soon to be dead restaurant.

Negative stars if possible. This place is a joke. I have verbal proof their head chef is a drunk, reeks of it coming out to speak to customers. please if you want to save your liver and heart, please go else where becuse the amount of sodium in this food is enough for your entire recommended yearly intake with one bite the beer is okay, and I noticed a taste in pretzels change and is now absolute s I also have had the displeasure of being in their back of house (where your food is prepared and cooked) and it looks like this. Please do not go here. I care for everyone's health and this is just not it. A health inspector needs to be called ASAP. There are also bugs flying around and from one of the servers that worked there just becuse she needed money, she has seen a roach crawling around the salad bar. Please don't do this to yourself, your heart, stomach or wallet.
