Bidra med feedbackIt is with a heavy heart that I write this review to make the loss of the best dumplings in Ithaca to mourning. Years ago, Beijing had perfect dumps- they were the standard against which I measured all the other dumplings, and few have come close. It must have been a relationship between Beijing and Hai Hong, because the dumplings that Hai Hong served until recently were quite similar to the perfect Beijing dumplings. But the dumplings in Hai Hong have changed, and while some people still find them appetizing, they are no longer themselves. They lost their sparks. They are just another derivative that offers in a sea of the glands Ithacan offers. The same boring emptying can now be from a dozen Asian restaurants in the area. And the world is more sad for it.
Best Chinese restaurant in Ithaca, hands down. Food is made with love, dim sum is available daily and they also offer a full Vietnamese menu from their sister restaurant next door. Here's something for everyone!
The food was excellent, but expensive. Steamed Sea Bass and Aubergine were great, but the bill was a surprise. To be fair, we didn't look for the price of the Sea bass, we just ordered what's on us. The restaurant was nice and clean, the furniture is common. We'd visit again.
Delicious food in a welcoming place. First Chinese restaurant I had in Collegetown and already a favorite. The soft-shell basket is beautiful and delicate, and the Beijing duck is absolutely divine! Rich and fat as it should be with the most crispy skin. The servers are so polite, and the food is always on the point. Not to mention the traditional Dimm-Summe courses. Xia Long Bao here are delicious, but could have a thinner wrap.
This is the closest dimsum place that I could find in my area lol. But the actual dimsum are pretty good. Service is okay but it’s a looooong wait time for your food to come.
