Bidra med feedbackFour PLUS Stars. We've been dining at Metropol for years on our annual visits to Isla Verde. Metropol consistently delivers delicious dishes, with excellent service in a bright, clean, friendly environment. Some personal favorites are the bacalaitos, churasco, ceviche, arroz con pollo, black beans rice and plenty of others. Highly recommended.
Amazing dinner at Metropol last night. We came hungry and ordered a lot of food, none of the dishes disappointed! The service was amazing and our waiter went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. The ambience was casual and relaxed. I would recommend the lomillo encebollado, it was seasoned perfectly and the onions on top were amazing. For starters we really enjoyed the tostones stuffed with picadillo and would get those again.
Walked right in on a Friday night at 7:30 pm and was seated quickly in the back room off the entryway. The table has a QR code plus they hand you a menu, it was easier to read it on the phone. The board menu was worn in some spots. Got the tostones with chicken and garlic sauce plus the beef empanadas. Both were very tasty. The other diner had the fish tacos. I had one of the three tacos, they were a generous portion. So good! We also had the happy hour specials that ran til 8 pm, had a beer and Tito's vodka. Price was a steal of a deal compared to the hotel restaurants.
While this establishment has been a landmark for many years, this last visit left us a very disappointed. Food was not fresh, most dishes tasted like straight out the microwave. We actually had to wait a long time to be seated and even when taken to a table, it was pretty dirty. We had to flag down waiters to acknowledge our table and the appetizers we ordered were all frozen bites that had come from the microwave as well. The staff was friendly and trying to make jokes but reality is, they didn't serve us with care and attention. We had to ask for all the things that are common sense to have at a dinning table, utensils, napkins, etc. The place was dirty with food on the floor and the bathrooms smelled badly. This place has gone down hill.
I came here with my son for my birthday, I would have liked the service to be top-notch as the restaurant was highly recommended for the service and food. Sadly service was just ok as well as the food. I had the breaded steak with Mampostiado rice and Tostones de Pana. My son had steak with onions with the same sides. For drinks he ordered a Rum and OJ I had a coconut mojito served in a wine glass not much of a mojito taste or coconut. I must say the Octopus salad we ordered for the appetizer was the only star of the show. In all, I had a pleasant time while on vacation, and my birthday was well spent. Would I come back? Not sure yet. we will see on my next trip back to PR.
