Alberto Pizzeria - Isla Carenero

Long story short: dine in, don’t order carry out. I’m sure the food would have been good if I could have tasted it. I called ahead and placed a carry out order for 2x pizza’s. I was told that it would be 45 minutes (no worries). I called again after 45 minutes to ask if I should come pick them up soon. I was told “we’re busy and need 45 more minutes”. Again… no problem. After 1.5 hours, I took a taxi over to the restaurant and discovered that they had not even started prepping the order. They said they were busy, but there were only 4 tables seated and none were large groups. I understand that things can move slower here in Bocas and that’s not an issue at all. I am disappointed by the fact that my pickup time was pushed back on multiple occasions without telling me. The only reason I found out was because I called and then physically went to the restaurant. Please work on communication and expectation management with your customers instead of stringing them along. I think this was a rare occurrence because I know people love the food that you make and have heard very good things.

One of the best pizza I ever hate in my life, even better than many I had in Italy. Alberto is a very nice person and her wife cook with love amazing recipes. I stayed in bocas for 2 months and try to go there evry week. I will miss their pizza Grazie mille e a presto

I went to Sardinia last year. It was so exciting to go to a restaurant in panama that had the quality of Italian food you would find in Italy, along with the wine that Alberto has shipped from Italy! We had a salad, pasta, and pizza. I brought a bottle of Vermentino back to the room for tomorrow. I can’t recommend it enough! Only locals were eating there. That says enough. Thanks Alberto!

Very tasty food and a genuine Italian set-up
