Lokal Coffee - Iselin

Smoothie was nice but price listed on blackboard was $6.95 and the paper menu was $7.95. Omelette was borderline inedible because it was burnt. Definitely not worth the $13.95 price tag for something of such poor quality.

Sub par food for above average price. Bacon and cheese omelet and vegan breakfast sandwich. The omelet wasn’t flavorful and the vegan sandwich (definitely the premade JustEgg) didn’t cover half of the brioche bun. Simply put, not the worst but not coming back.Dietary restrictions: Vegan options

Honestly it was just not good. Cute cafe and decor but that’s honestly the only good part. Prices were outrageous for the quality of food. My friend tried to order a salad, they didn’t have salads. She went to order a soup, they didn’t have soup. She ended up with a smoothie for almost $9 that she couldn’t even drink because it was gross and filled with seeds. I ordered a waffle which was the worst waffle I had ever had it was dry and basically falling apart every bite I took. I paid $18 for a waffle and lemonade which is ridiculous and I threw out 3/4 of it because it was just not good. Employees seemed unenthusiastic and didn’t really create a nice atmosphere. Not worth the money at all. Won’t be back.

We had delicious blueberry pancakes which our 2 and a half year old niece also thoroughly enjoyed. She loved the colorful wallpaper full of birds and flowers. This was a very nice place to eat.Kid-friendliness: Nice open space for kids with comfortable chairs.

I really like just about everything about Lokal Coffee. The setting is a high ceilinged, nicely decorated space with cozy seating, soft but interesting background music, and, of course, great coffee (and other beverages) and light dining offerings the menu has many nice, healthful options. Lokal is its own place, not one of those chain places that are kind of corporate blah. There are always a few interesting books to flip through. The people there are always courteous and the place is always nice and clean. Great place for a relaxing coffee break and/or a casual entree that tastes great and that you can feel good about.Vegetarian options: If you are vegetarian, they've got you covered.
