Bidra med feedbackWe found this restaurant under Cheap Eats and was rewarded with an inexpensive and delicious dinner. I think they were winding down when we got there but the host and hostess were welcoming nonetheless. We ate different pastas and each one was fresh and...yummy. It is located right on the edge of the beach so an evening meal is a delightful experience.
Found this lovely place at the end of my week....wish I had found it sooner! The food is great and reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and made me feel very welcome.
We are so glad we didn’t give up looking for this place as google maps sent us the wrong way. Fantastic fresh seafood in an unforgettable setting. Sat at a romantic table on the beach, we ate mussels that were cooked in garlic and they...were sublime. Very reasonably priced and I would recommend. Off the beaten track and a lot of locals eating there
After years of visiting Ischia Porto, we discovered there is now a reason to turn _toward_ the beach at the end of Via Roma—Maracaibo da Gabriele. What was once an unkempt, unappealing part of the Porto, Gabriele has transformed into clean surroundings and a...culinary oasis. This transformation offers a study of classic island food in a casual, bright and cozy restaurant; including beach seating. As owner/chef/maître de/sommelier, he lovingly presents the freshest local fare you can only attempt to imagine. One morning I observed him fastidiously buying fresh vegetables, lemons and even baskets for the lemons from the back of the farmer’s truck, one block away. Then he popped into another market, and after exchanging greetings by name, carefully chose another garden-fresh, local selection. We spent hours here, over the course of six days, during our recent two week stay on the island. Originally a recommendation by locals, we returned to Gabrielle and Maracaibo again and again, for espresso and sfogliatella in the morning, followed by delectable lunches and dinners. Gabriele exudes a genuine southern Italian character of convivial passion toward family, food, wine and especially, his customers. He also has a delicious habit of personally delivering divine samples to his customers—at lunch one afternoon he brought us tagliolini al limone. How did he know? I have been waiting for this dish since I read (while in Ischia, as it turns out, borrowed from a hotel’s “free” bookshelf), the book, The Wedding Officer by Anthony Capella. We offer the highest recommendation to Maracaibo da Gabriele, and wish his entire family and staff the best of luck!
Food was very good and drinks were good also. The best panini's in town. Interior was original. Greetings from Balotelli boy.
