Bidra med feedbackWe were on Rt 76 and decided to stop from Salsa Sam on the basis of the recommendations. We were glad. Sam and his son were very hospitable and the food was excellent. This is your family owned hole in the wall amazing roadtrip eating that you are glad you found. I had the Mexican corn shell together with the Jackfruit tape. The owners were extremely gracious and gave the boys ice cream on the house. Excellent customer service; excellent food; great value and no break after eating Mexican food. Very recommended.
I discovered this jewel and couldn't believe I haven't heard it yet. The food is fresh and homemade, and the small cozy restaurant is simple and full of charm. The owner and his son were as nice as possible. The food is so delicious, there is simply no reason to try elsewhere for tacos, burritos and much more. I can't wait to go back. Look at this, you'll be happy.
Salsa Sam's is a family-run casual restaurant with tacos, burrito, nacho, Queso, Guac and of course chips and salsa. Sam is from Southern California and began his family business by selling his famous salsa on peasant markets and branching into a fully braided restaurant. The restaurant is small with limited seating inside, but they have plenty of outdoor space and have a cute, colorful backyard with plenty of shade. As people have previously mentioned in reviews, it feels like you are going to your friends kitchen that is beautiful and intimate. The food was tasteful and service was top notch. If you're in the area, you should try it! My wife and I had their deal from the daily special that was chips and salsa and queso for $6. It was a killer deal because you get a full bag with chips and two deep dishes of salsa and queso. Definitely worth the money. The queso seems to mix Velveeta with her salsa and a few more things, but they make it great. The salsa is a finely mixed mixture of sweet tomatoes, onions, jalapeno and cilantro with some spices. It was mild in spices. After that the woman had the Baja shrimp taco and the Fried Cod taco and I had the Bandito Burrito. The Baja Shrimp taco has wildly caught shrimp, cabbage, Cotija cheese, lime and adobo sauce. The Fried Cod taco had the same blow, but beer-fried Cod. The burrito can come either with vegetable meat (Beyond Meat) or wildly caught shrimps. I have the shrimps. Its filled with rice, black beans, Guac, Queso, grilled onions and peppers served in a flour tortilla with salsa and more Guac on the side and with Cotija cheese and adobo sauce. The woman liked her tacos and me too. The only thing I would have liked would be if the cod were still crispy. My Burrito was tasteful and was not dry as some Burritos can be. The rice and shrimp were my favorite part of the Burritos. We ended the day with a pleasant conversation with the owner, Sam. We just wanted to go before we finish, so if it were nice to meet him and his story. When we sat down, it felt like we got service as if we had come in a nice restaurant with his son to ask if everything was okay and if we needed something else and when we first showed up, they were friendly and willing to help us. This place is a jewel for this community and you should support this little business and try it out. Follow me for more reviews throughout America
The food is absolutely delicious. West Coast Style Tacos here in Irwin. The Mexican corn shell with Lobster was amazing. The staff is super friendly, I will definitely be here again.
I will be dreaming about the Mexican Street Corn Bowl until the next time I'm in the Pittsburgh area. Amazing food, super fun atmosphere, and friendly folks. Ten out of five stars.
