Bidra med feedbackWhenever we stay with friends in Ipswich, we often dine at this restaurant. The quality and taste of the food are always impeccable. As a lover of Indian cuisine, I believe this is one of the best restaurants in the area.
Last night, we dined at Mehfil based on a friend's recommendation and it was truly a hidden gem! The food was amazing. My wife's chicken tikka masala was flavorful and creamy. My lamb jalfrezi was perfectly spiced and comforting. The heat level can vary but it was still delicious. The keema naan was exceptional, one of the best I've ever had. We ended our evening with Ferrero Rocher ice cream for dessert. We will definitely be returning in the future.
We celebrated a 50th birthday weekend on March 22, 2016 and decided to order takeout from this restaurant on Friday. The house we were staying at, Old Neptune, was located behind the restaurant and the enticing aroma led us to try their food. Most of the dishes were good, but unfortunately, my prawns still had shells on at the tails, making it a crunchy and messy experience as I had to remove the shells with each bite. I had intended to return the leftover tails to show them, but ran out of time. I hope the restaurant takes note of this feedback as we do not enjoy eating the tail shells. The keema rice was excellent, the other rice dishes were fluffy, and the poppadoms were crispy. When I went inside to pick up the order, I found the restaurant to be too bright and lacking in intimacy. I mentioned this to the owners, explaining that we prefer dining in a cozy atmosphere when treating ourselves to a nice meal. The owner assured me that they would install dimmer switches promptly. The owners also mentioned that it was challenging to get customers to return, speculating that it could be due to the difficult parking situation in the area or the lack of ambience in the restaurant. Overall, the food was good, but I suggest the restaurant taste their prawn sag and address the issue of the shells at the tails, as well as dimming the lights and adding tea lights on the tables. A simple and inexpensive solution could be purchasing GLIMMA Unscented candles in metal cups from IKEA for £4 for a 24-pack. (Article Number: 901.083.60)
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious. I was especially pleased with the great vegan options available. I tried the dhansak and it was the best I've ever had. I will definitely be coming back again!
I recently dined at a new restaurant and was blown away by the amazing food, friendly staff, and beautiful ambiance. This is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever eaten at. Despite having a small menu, the quality of the food was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. - Resident at Waterfront flat.
