Bidra med feedbackSo good to have great fast food. It's the best fast food burger in Kansas City right now. The staff was super friendly and courteous. They worked hard to get our order correct. Cannot wait for the specialty burgers and sandwiches to come through as they get everything rolling in this location.
I went today with my family and experience a What-A-burger for only the second time in my life. The first time was in Texas. I have to eat gluten free so i ordered a grilled chicken sandwich without the bun. Of course i ordered all the extra addons and am glad i did. Had a great experience and enjoyed my time. I will not complain about long lines and extra wait. That, to me, is part of the process of a growing business that we are excited. And I?ve seen a few places where bringing this restaurant has helped by transforming an abandoned building and otherwise empty lot. To me, this is exciting and I?ll gladly support the growth of our economy.
After waiting in line for at least an half hour, 15 cars deep in 8 degree weather for the supposed holy grail of cheeseburgers I am finally at the pearly gates of the Whataburger drive through window. The staff are busy but with the number of workers on hand they should be slamming orders out the door, or window. My order was simple. One single, one double, one triple, a jalapeño burger, 3 cokes, one diet Dr Pepper, 4 shakes, 3 chocolate, one vanilla. What did I get? Mass confusion on the drinks. In fact they gave me someone elses, I gave them back. Always check your bags. One of the first thing I do after retrieving my order and after I have checked my bags, I hit the frys while I am driving. I had looked forward to hot fries after waiting a half hour in eight degree weather. .....Nope. I hit the first out of four bags. Cold, second bag cold etc. Not only cold but taste like cardboard. What they did was make a large batch of fries and left them sitting under the heat lamps trying to cut corners. Also a side note I didnt order malts, I ordered shakes. I can't stand malts. But they sent us malts. After fighting to get out of the parking lot. Almost literally, thats another story I get home. The cheeseburgers are sub-par. No where near the hype. Long wait, untrained staff, cold food etc. I eat out a lot due to a busy life. I don't mind spending money on good food. I don't even mind waiting in eight degree weather. But you have to deliver. The Whataburger in Independence Mo compared to the Tula Oklahoma location are day and night different. Bottom line. Avoid Whataburger in Independence Mo. Way over priced for what you get. I paid right at $65.00 to feed four people. The only one who made out was my dog. And he wasn't impressed.
What a joke! There is nothing special about this place at all. My husband said it taste just like the #2 from Sonic if they still had a #2). Don?t get me wrong, the food was fine, fries were okay, better with the spicy ketchup. I?m glad I waited to come here. I would have been very angry if I had waited I. Some crazy long line for this.
Great place to eat, if you're tired of the other regional burger chains. If you come here be prepared to wait. Whataburger is still in the curious, very few Kansas City area locations phase. I waited over a half-hour for my patty melt and fries. I did however receive my Dr. Pepper Shake (which is excellent) immediately. The drive thru line and inside lines can be very long and I went at 3 pm on a Saturday. Once my meal arrived, I was pretty hungry at that point. The fries are just okay (made better with the spicy ketchup) and the patty melt was excellent. The burger was massive compared to other chains and the bread seemed fresh. Overall a great burger chain with a friendly over-worked staff.
