The Court House Exchange - Independence

A local suggestion, we eat here for homemade comfort food. It was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant is located in the basement of the old city centre building.

We were looking for a place outside the door seats and came across Court House Exchange. We went to the country with our little dog from Florida and needed a place where she would be welcomed. Even if they are not in the outside door, they have accommodated us! Super awesome staff (yes, talk about you Jodi)! The food was great, my Buffalo Chicken Salad was very good and my friend said his Court House Exchange Burger was perfectly boiled and tasteful. You want a super friendly place with good food, this is the place.

I always loved coming here. We left the previous time about 6 months ago because they had no service personnel. This time the food quality has gone downhill and the prices have skyrocketed. Most things are $14-$16. Only a few customers for the first time dinner. I can't see how this place will survive without changes.

We went a few years ago and it was really good. Went today and things have really seemed to change. They removed many of their favorites. I ordered their special of the day, fish and chips and there was a pool of grease at the bottom of my plate, when I picked up one piece of fish grease poured out! Our waitress was standing at our table watching this happen. I used THREE large napkins to soak up all the grease from just 1 of the pieces of fish! Very disappointing for $16
