Bidra med feedbackKansi reis mine go to clamp when I am hungry and I through jaro. her new place looks classic and cozy. points for a watchman who helps with the parking lot.
I have been eating here for more than a decade.I love their Kansi. Unfortunately, i noticed that the serving has been gradually reduced through the years. But still the best Kansi in the city.
Kansi is Ilonggo's version of Bulalo, a reinvention by itself. Pat-Pat's Kansi took this reinvention into a higher level by reinventing it further. They offer variations of Kansi like Sizzling Kansi, etc. Other offerings like Liempo and Sisig are equally palatable as well. The restaurant is located just walking distance from the Jaro Cathedral making it very accessible. The place is spacious too. Its built upon an old house which is typical in all of Jaro being one of Iloilo's oldest districts.
What makes people flock to a jam packed non-air conditioned kansi house in the heat of summer? Those who have tried Pat-Pat’s Kansi know the answer —it’s their super delicious bulalo soup with fall of the bone meat...and much more! Order the ‘Kansi Lawas’ and get the exciting experience of digging into bone marrow and nibbling on those gelatinous ‘litid’. Get the Kansi Laman for a straightforward bowl of soup with chunks of meat. Those who will order dinuguan(pork stewed in pork blood) will be delightfully surprised by its coconut milk undertone (reminiscent of the bicol version of dinuguan but with much subtle taste of coconut). It would be more comfortable dining though if they can offer an air conditioned section for people who cannot bear the summer summer heat.
Liked the kansi, but the side dishes so far have been disappointing, the lechon kawali was not crispy, the dinuguan was bland and the sinugba na baboy was also dry and shrivelled. The tables are spaced to close together and it gets really crowded and hard to move and when the place is full it really warm and fills constrcting. The parking is also too tight and diffculy to manuver. The only good thing about the place is the friendly and accomodating staff.
