La Bistro Italian Restaurant - Hurst

Consistent the best experience. Love the staff and the food is excellent.

For the first time in the restaurant WONDERFUL. You wouldn't necessarily know from the outside as it's in an older strip-mall, but it's a hidden gem, and is now our new favorite restaurant. Our waiter, Sam, was an old school, class action gentleman who made our night and was amazing at his work. He made us feel like we were his only table and they were smashed since it was Valentine's Day. We took his recommendations on everything from wine, to the fresh crab cakes appetizer, lobster bisque soup, the prime fillet on the hot stone that you cut and cook yourself, then the warm date cakes for dessert. Dang! The piano player and the ambience complemented our joy. Can't wait to go back to try some of the true Italian recipes I KNOW we won't be disappointed!

I had the lobster bisque and was on a rock. Both were very good. the bisque had pieces of lobster you could see and taste unlike some other places. The Steak experience was much fun, about 3 seconds on one side of a small steak for medium-sized rare and it tasted great. My trophy woman had chicken with a large cream, mushroom sauce and it was delicious and a large portion. The bread pudding was made in the house and very good. My wife prefers the date cake that was also good. A perfect experience with the atmosphere of the piano player and a good service.

Our first experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The latex balloons tied to the chairs were in the way and could have been better secured with a weight on the table. The service was subpar, as evidenced by our $500 bill which included a mention of compensation for the poor service. Examples of the inadequate service included staff hovering over my wife and placing dishes on the table by rubbing her head, serving my mother directly instead of going around the table, and forgetting to remove finished dishes. The server also seemed impatient until it was time to bring the check. Overall, the high prices at this restaurant are not justified by the level of service provided. This will be our first and last visit.

Third time here in the last month or so. Pasta on the first two visits, filet in wine sauce on the last visit. All meals have been outstanding. There is a piano player, beautiful music, low key. Excellent service. Highly recommended.
